Alexander Vogel

Alexander holds a PhD in chemistry from the Max Planck Graduate Center together with the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz, in which he studied the chemistry of ambient aerosols in various field experiments.

Since 2014 he is involved in the CLOUD project as a post-doctoral fellow at CERN. His research focuses on the air chemistry of biogenic vapours, their contribution to particle growth and their interactions with anthropogenic pollutants such as SO2 or NOx by the application of sophisticated mass spectrometric techniques. Discovering and understanding of those nanoscale processes in a controlled experiment like CLOUD will help to determine more precisely the impact of human activities on earth’s radiative balance.
